Comrade Nguyen Van Kien holds the position of Chairman of Hai Duong City People's Committee

On the morning of October 8, Hai Duong City Party Committee held a conference to announce the decision of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on personnel work for the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee.

Comrade Tran Duc Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee attended and presented the decision of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to transfer Comrade Nguyen Van Kien, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chi Linh City to work at the Hai Duong City Party Committee from October 8, 2024, appointing him to participate in the City Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hai Duong City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, introducing him to the Hai Duong City People's Council to elect him as Chairman of the Hai Duong City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Speaking at the assignment, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang emphasized that the mobilization of cadres is a regular task to promote the capacity, strengths, training and education of the province's cadres to meet the requirements of assigned tasks. This is a step to prepare personnel for the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, creating a premise for the development of the province and localities in the coming years.

Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang acknowledged and commended the contributions of comrade Tran Ho Dang, former Chairman of Hai Duong City People's Committee and comrade Nguyen Van Kien to the development of Hai Duong City and Chi Linh.

Speaking on receiving the assignment, Comrade Nguyen Van Kien expressed his honor and sincere thanks to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for entrusting him with the task. He affirmed that he will continue to humbly learn, be dedicated to his work, and make full use of his energy, intelligence, and determination, together with the Standing Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, and the Hai Duong City Party Committee Executive Committee, to successfully complete the task, further enhancing the achievements that Hai Duong City has achieved in recent years.

On the same morning, at the thematic session, the People's Council of Hai Duong City dismissed the position of Chairman of the City People's Committee and dismissed the duties of Hai Duong City People's Council delegate for the 2021-2026 term for comrade Tran Ho Dang due to job transfer; elected comrade Nguyen Van Kien, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of Hai Duong City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term with 100% of votes.

Previously, also on the morning of October 8, the People's Council of Chi Linh City held a thematic meeting, dismissed the position of Chairman of the City People's Committee and terminated the duties of the People's Council delegate of Chi Linh City, term 2021-2026 for comrade Nguyen Van Kien. The People's Council of Chi Linh City announced the decision of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to assign the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Chi Linh City to comrade Nguyen Van Huynh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Chi Linh City from October 8, 2024 until the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of the city for the term 2021-2026 is completed.

On the afternoon of October 4, at the 29th Session, the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee elected comrade Tran Ho Dang, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hai Duong City People's Committee, member of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee to hold the position of Deputy Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee for the 17th term, 2020-2025 term with an absolute number of votes.
