After the reorganization, the Tax Department (Ministry of Finance) has 20 branch directors in charge of regional tax branches. Mr. Do Cong Tien, Director of Hai Duong Provincial Tax Department, holds the position of Director of Regional Tax Branch V.
From March 1, the Tax Department is organized from central to local levels according to a 3-level model including: Tax Department (12 units at the central level), 20 regional tax branches and 350 district and inter-district tax teams.
Thus, according to the new organizational model, the entire tax sector has reduced from 4,141 units to 3,108 units.
The Tax Department also announced the Decisions on appointment and acceptance of appointment of individuals holding the position of Deputy Director of the Tax Department, including Mr. Vu Chi Hung; Dang Ngoc Minh; Mai Son; Vu Manh Cuong and Le Long (former Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel - State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises).
List of 20 branch directors in charge of regional tax branches:
1. Mr. Vu Manh Cuong, Deputy Director of the Tax Department, was assigned to concurrently hold the position of Director of the Tax Department of Region I (Hanoi, Hoa Binh) until the position of Director of the Tax Department of Region I is completed.
2. Mr. Nguyen Nam Binh, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, holds the position of Director of Tax Department Region II (Ho Chi Minh City).
3. Mr. Nguyen Tien Truong, Director of Hai Phong City Tax Department, holds the position of Director of Tax Branch Region III (Hai Phong, Quang Ninh).
4. Mr. Nguyen Duc Son, Director of the Hung Yen Provincial Tax Department, holds the position of Director of the Tax Department of Region IV (Hung Yen, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh).
5. Mr. Do Cong Tien, Director of Hai Duong Provincial Tax Department, holds the position of Director of Tax Branch Region V (Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Thai Binh).
6. Mr. Le Ba Ngoc, Director of the Bac Giang Provincial Tax Department, holds the position of Director of the Tax Department of Region VI (Bac Giang, Lang Son, Bac Kan, Cao Bang).
7. Mr. Do Trong Nghia, Director of Thai Nguyen Provincial Tax Department, holds the position of Director of Regional Tax Department VII (Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang).
8. Mr. Nguyen Huy Hong, Director of Phu Tho Provincial Tax Department, holds the position of Director of Tax Department of Region VIII (Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Yen Bai, Lao Cai).

15. Mr. Doan Minh Dung, Director of the Tax Department of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, holds the position of Director of the Tax Department of Region XV (Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau).

19. Mr. Phan Tien Lan, Director of Can Tho City Tax Department, holds the position of Director of Tax Branch of Region XIX (An Giang, Dong Thap, Can Tho, Hau Giang).
20. Mr. Nguyen Van Tiep, Director of the Quang Nam Provincial Tax Department, holds the position of Director of the Regional Tax Department XX (Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu).
Mr. Do Cong Tien was born in 1970, from Bac Ninh province, has a master's degree in economics and a senior degree in political theory. He has held the positions of Director of the Gia Thuan Regional Tax Department; Deputy Director of the Bac Ninh Provincial Tax Department; in June 2022, he was transferred and appointed as Director of the Lang Son Provincial Tax Department.
On May 1, 2023, Mr. Do Cong Tien was transferred and appointed to the position of Director of the Hai Duong Provincial Tax Department to replace Mr. Nguyen Nang Hoan, who was transferred and appointed as Director of the Tien Giang Provincial Tax Department.
