The "giant" flower pot is cast from 5 concrete blocks, inside the pot are 5 kumquat trees.

The owner of this unique work is Mr. Pham Van Hoan (born in 1988, in Lien Nghia commune, Van Giang district).

Mr. Hoan is an architect, graduated from Hanoi University of Architecture. Born in the land of flowers and ornamental plants Van Giang, right at the gateway to the capital, he decided to stop his career in construction design to focus on pursuing his passion for plants.

Since 2018, Mr. Hoan has started designing “super big, giant” Tet displays. Thanks to his formal training and natural talent, he quickly created perfect tree art works.

The work “Five Blessings” to welcome the Lunar New Year 2025 is one of Mr. Hoan’s typical works. The work started with the creation of a giant concrete tank (7m long, 3m wide), weighing over 3 tons; inside the tank are concrete blocks arranged staggered, stacked on top of each other in the style of creating a fake rockery.

The giant flower pot is made of 5 concrete blocks, inside the pot are 5 main kumquat trees. Small slots are filled with soil to plant other colorful flowers such as lipstick plants, ornamental perilla for perspective.

Below is a water tank that cools the clay pots inside, and has feng shui meaning according to Eastern thinking.

To create a natural look, Mr. Hoan applied a layer of moss-colored faux stone paint to make the concrete block more soulful.

The 5 kumquat trees planted in the pond are all over 2m tall, with a canopy of 3m wide. These kumquat trees were all created and woven from scratch. If you look closely, you will see that these branches look like large fans or bird wings.

“Each kumquat tree looks like a giant raspberry. When placed side by side, their canopies look like mushrooms or large umbrellas stacked on top of each other, one canopy following another in a very eye-catching order. The most vivid thing is the layer of fruit that is full, large, even, shiny and ripens at the same time. The layers of ripe yellow fruit spread evenly on the surface, looking like a giant golden carpet.”

Kumquat tree is priced at 200 million VND

Mr. Hoan added that according to Eastern beliefs, everyone wants to have good symbols at the beginning of the new year. Therefore, this giant Tet kumquat tree will be a symbol of fulfillment. This is not just a normal Tet ornamental tree, but also a classy, unique, and strange work of art with high aesthetic and symbolic value.

Mr. Hoan has set the price for this work at 200 million VND for the owner. This is a reasonable price for the effort he put into creating this unique Tet tree.
