Vietnam Sports Delegation to the 2024 Paris Olympics with 39 members

The Department of Physical Training and Sports has just informed that Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung has signed Decision No. 1831/QD-BVHTTDL on the establishment of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation to attend the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Accordingly, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation to the Olympics consists of 39 members, led by Director of the Department of Physical Training and Sports Dang Ha Viet.

The Vietnamese Sports Delegation participating in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France (from July 17 to August 12, 2024) includes 16 athletes, 12 coaches, 4 experts, 2 doctors and 4 officials, built with the criteria of streamlining, efficiency, and maximum service for the athletes competing at the Olympics as set out in advance.

Of the 16 athletes participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics, 14 athletes have officially won spots in 10 sports including: Archery (2 athletes), Badminton (2 athletes), Shooting (2 athletes), Boxing (2 athletes), Swimming, Weightlifting, Canoeing, Rowing, Judo, Cycling. 2 athletes received special spots in Swimming and Athletics.

Among the 16 athletes competing in Paris this time, there are 3 athletes who have participated in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics: Nguyen Thuy Linh (Badminton), Do Thi Anh Nguyet (Archery), Nguyen Huy Hoang (Swimming). The remaining 13 athletes are all competing in an Olympics for the first time.

In addition to domestic coaches leading and directing the athletes, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation to the 2024 Olympics also has professional support from four foreign experts, including Mr. Park Chung Gun (Shooting), Mr. Pak Chae Soon (Archery), Mr. Hariawan (Badminton), and Mr. Donnelly Joseph Ignatius (Rowing).
