Phi Vu was Hai Duong's number 1 hope to win a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics but was unsuccessful.

In 2023 and the first months of 2024, high-achieving athletes from Hai Duong will strive to compete to earn points to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. All hopes are pinned on Nguyen Hoang Phi Vu, as this archer is continuously sent to compete to earn points. Hopes are further reinforced when Phi Vu won an official ticket to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo (Japan), thereby helping Vietnamese archery to participate for the first time in the world's largest sporting arena.

However, through the rounds, Phi Vu could not pass the requirements to get enough points to go to the Olympics.

Nguyen Hoang Phi Vu was born in 1999, is 1m81 tall, weighs 90kg and has 14 years of experience in archery training and competition, winning many achievements in domestic and international tournaments.

So far, the number of Hai Duong athletes coming to the Olympic arena has stopped at 4, including: Nguyen Duc Uynh (shooting), Tran Quoc Cuong (shooting), Nguyen Thi Thiet (weightlifting, 2 times) and Nguyen Hoang Phi Vu (archery).

Currently, Vietnamese sports have 11 official slots for the Olympics, including: Nguyen Thi That (cycling), Trinh Thu Vinh, Le Thi Mong Tuyen (shooting), Vo Thi Kim Anh, Ha Thi Linh (boxing), Nguyen Huy Hoang (swimming), Trinh Van Vinh (weightlifting), Nguyen Thuy Linh, Le Duc Phat (badminton), Nguyen Thi Huong (canoeing), Pham Thi Hue (rowing).
