Nurse Pham Van Tang at the Department of Resuscitation and Emergency (Hai Duong General Hospital) promptly donated rare blood to help a patient from Ninh Giang overcome the critical condition.
On the afternoon of October 30, Hai Duong Provincial General Hospital received patient Pham Van Chin in Thien Khanh village, Tan Quang commune (Ninh Giang) who was urgently transferred from Thanh Mien District Medical Center.
The patient could not stop the bleeding, was diagnosed with hemorrhage, thrombocytopenia and needed an urgent transfusion of AB blood. This is a rare blood type while the department no longer has this blood type in reserve.
While the patient was in critical condition, nurse Pham Van Tang in the Intensive Care and Emergency Department volunteered to donate 250ml of blood.
Mr. Tang has donated blood 17 times, including several emergency blood transfusions to save patients.
