Recently, customers have complained to Hai Duong Electricity Company Limited about receiving calls from strange phone numbers claiming to be electricity employees. The subjects often inform customers that they are in debt or have not paid their electricity bills, and if they do not pay quickly, their electricity will be cut off.
The subjects also asked for photos of payment invoices, suggested that people and customers access certain links, apps... When customers install this app on their phones or access the link, the scammers will take control of the device, access and take money from the customer's bank account.
Some customers also received documents bearing the name of “Northern Electricity Group” with instructions on how to make cashless payments from October 2024.
Vietnam Electricity Group affirms that the group and its member units do not have any units named "Northern Electricity Group". This is a document forging the brand and seal of Vietnam Electricity Group.
Hai Duong Electricity recommends that electricity customers and residents be vigilant to avoid being taken advantage of and scammed by bad guys.
