The Lao National Health Information Center said the number of dengue fever cases in the country continues to increase daily.
Since the beginning of January 2024, the country has had 1,053 cases of dengue fever, including 1 death.
Although it has entered the dry season, Laos still recorded many cases of dengue fever, especially in the first two months of 2024. Of the total 1,053 cases nationwide, Sekong province had the most patients with 296 cases, followed by Vientiane province, Luang Namtha province and many other provinces and cities.
Faced with the above situation, Lao health officials require all people to focus on collecting and treating waste materials, objects that hold water around the house...; at the same time, take disease prevention measures as well as keep the house clean, spray insecticide and clear bushes regularly to limit mosquito breeding environments.
In 2023, Laos recorded a total of 35,317 cases of dengue fever, with 20 deaths.
