Ho Chi Minh City National University's aptitude test may take place on April 7 and June 2, 2024.
This exam schedule is one month later than the usual March and May each year.
Ho Chi Minh City National University plans to add two exam locations in Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh provinces, in addition to the 21 old exam locations, including: Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, An Giang, Can Tho, Kien Giang and Bac Lieu.
In addition, the structure of the competency assessment test has also been adjusted to be closer to and consistent with the new general education program. However, this unit has not announced specifically.
In previous years, the test consisted of 120 multiple-choice questions, with a duration of 150 minutes, and three sections: language use; mathematics, logical thinking and data analysis; and problem solving. The total score was 1,200.

The Ho Chi Minh City National University Aptitude Test was first held in 2018 to recruit students for member schools. After 6 years, the scale of the test has increased. From 5,000 candidates from 616 high schools in 2018, by 2023, this number is more than 100,000 candidates from 1,815 schools. The test results are used by 97 universities and colleges for enrollment.
The candidate who won the top prize in this year's exam scored 1,133/1,200 points. This student also has the highest score since 2018.
The whole country currently has about 10 exams to assess capacity and thinking, the largest of which are the exams of Ho Chi Minh City National University and Hanoi National University.
