On March 28, nearly 70,000 candidates from many localities took the first round of the competency assessment exam conducted by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 7 provinces and cities.
This is the exam session with the largest number of candidates registered since the exam was organized. In particular, Ho Chi Minh City alone has 14 clusters, 35 exam locations with more than 50,000 candidates registered for the exam.
In Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) there are 2 exam clusters; in Da Nang, An Giang, Ben Tre, Bac Lieu, Buon Ma Thuot (Dak Lak) each locality has 1 exam cluster.
At some testing sites in Ho Chi Minh City, candidates arrived at the testing site quite early; epidemic prevention measures were strictly implemented, candidates had their temperature measured and washed their hands with sanitizer before entering the testing room.
Previously, all candidates were required to make a health declaration within 48 hours before the exam and print out the online health declaration form to bring with them to the exam.
If candidates have not made an online health declaration, they will make a declaration directly at the examination site before taking the exam.

Candidates take the test in 150 minutes with 120 multiple choice questions, including language; mathematics, logical thinking, data analysis; problem solving.
The test provides candidates with data, figures and basic formulas, aiming to assess candidates' basic abilities to study at university, not their ability to memorize.
On the other hand, the results of this exam are one of many methods for admission to colleges and universities, so most candidates take the exam with a very relaxed spirit, without much pressure.
Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Director of the Center for Testing and Training Quality Assessment, Ho Chi Minh City National University, said that in this exam period, there were 68,385 candidates taking the exam, reaching 97.94% of the total number of candidates registered to take the exam.

Along with the conditions to ensure the exam takes place safely and seriously, measures to prevent the COVID-19 epidemic are strictly implemented by Ho Chi Minh City National University at the exam sites. The highest goal is to ensure the safety of candidates and personnel working to organize the exam.
This is one of the separate exams to obtain university admission results on a large scale, attracting the participation of candidates from many localities with the number of candidates taking the exam and the number of schools using the results for admission increasing over the years.
This year, along with 10 schools in the Ho Chi Minh City National University system, nearly 60 universities and colleges outside the system have registered to use the exam results for admission.
The enrollment quota by considering the results of this exam at member schools of Ho Chi Minh City National University has all increased. In particular, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities reserves a maximum of 50% of its total quota for this method, and the University of Technology recruits up to 70% of its quota by this method...
According to the plan, this year's exam will take place in two rounds. The second round is expected to be held one week after the high school graduation exam, in four localities, including Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) and Da Nang.
Ho Chi Minh City National University will open registration portal from May 4 to June 4.
The results of each exam will be announced 1 week after the exam date. Candidates can register for admission based on the results of this exam within the prescribed time according to the admission plan of the schools.
