Bao Anh Company (Chi Linh) was heavily fined for not fully implementing mine closure.

The Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee has just decided to administratively fine Bao Anh Construction, Transport and Trade One Member Co., Ltd. (Chi Ngai I residential area, Cong Hoa ward, Chi Linh city) 100 million VND.

The reason is that the company has not fully implemented the quantity and volume of construction items, solutions to bring the mining area to a safe state, and land restoration as specified in the mineral mine closure project approved by competent authorities. Specifically, the company has not fully implemented the workload according to the Project to Close the Mineral Mine of Gray-White Clay and Mottled Clay, Red-Brown, and Gray-Green Clay approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 994/QD-UBND dated May 29, 2023.

The Company violated the provisions of Point b, Clause 1, Article 49 of Decree No. 36/2020/ND-CP dated March 24, 2020 of the Government on administrative sanctions for violations in the field of minerals and water resources, amended and supplemented by Decree 04 dated January 6, 2022 of the Government amending and supplementing a number of articles of the decrees on administrative sanctions for violations in the fields of land, water resources and minerals, hydrometeorology, surveying and mapping.

In addition to the fine, the company must continue to fully implement the work volume according to the mine closure plan approved by the Provincial People's Committee, to be completed before April 1, 2025.

The Provincial People's Committee has also decided to reclaim 24,398 m²mineral exploitation land in Cong Hoa ward. The company still has to fulfill the obligation to close the mine as stated above.
