Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee requested to seriously implement prevention of dengue fever and pink eye

According to the official dispatch conveying the direction of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issued by the Office of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, Comrade Trieu The Hung requested the Department of Health to strengthen monitoring, detect and promptly handle outbreaks of pink eye; guide the implementation of anti-infection measures at educational institutions, agencies, businesses and the community. Direct medical examination and treatment facilities to organize well the admission, treatment, and close monitoring of high-risk patients, minimize deaths, proactively allocate treatment routes to avoid overload, and prevent shortages of medicines, supplies, chemicals and equipment for epidemic prevention.

The provincial Center for Disease Control and the district-level Health Center closely monitor and thoroughly handle dengue fever outbreaks in the locality; spray chemicals to kill mosquitoes and larvae in the outbreak area...

The Department of Education and Training directs educational institutions to strengthen environmental sanitation and personal hygiene for children according to instructions, promptly report when cases appear for timely handling...

The District People's Committee shall take the lead in implementing and assigning specific responsibilities to departments, branches, socio-political organizations, and affiliated units to coordinate with the health sector to immediately implement measures to prevent dengue fever and pink eye; launch a campaign to clean the environment, clean schools, and kill mosquitoes and larvae; proactively allocate budget resources to implement disease prevention activities; inspect, monitor, and promptly report on the disease situation and be responsible to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee if the disease spreads complicatedly in the locality.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, organizations and local People's Committees to seriously implement the above instructions.

Since mid-September, dengue fever and pink eye have been spreading widely in Hai Duong. Every day, dozens of dengue fever cases are recorded in the province, with 12 active outbreaks. Meanwhile, pink eye has shown no signs of cooling down, with hundreds to thousands of new cases occurring every day, mostly among students. From September 18 to October 3, the province recorded 142 clusters of cases, with 6,289 cases.
