National Assembly Chairman attends Logo Announcement Ceremony of Global Young Parliamentarians Conference

The logo was designed to highlight two elements: The letter Y, the first letter of the word Youth, in English representing the Young People; the 5 letters Y represent delegates from five continents, gathered in Hanoi to attend the Conference.

On the afternoon of August 3, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended the Ceremony to announce the Logo, Identity, Website and introduce the official trailer of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians.

Also attending the ceremony were Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, Head of the Conference Organizing Committee; Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly: Nguyen Khac Dinh, Tran Quang Phuong; Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong; leaders of the National Assembly Committees, agencies under the National Assembly Standing Committee; representatives of leaders of central departments, ministries and branches.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, said that in 2023, the Vietnamese National Assembly will host the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, from September 14-17 in Hanoi.

This is the key multilateral foreign affairs event of the National Assembly, and also one of our country's major multilateral diplomatic events this year.

The event received the attention of the Politburo, the Party Delegation of the National Assembly and the support of member parliaments of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Besides, the Conference is also an opportunity to promote the image of Vietnam in general and the Vietnamese National Assembly in particular to international friends.

The conference has the theme: "The role of youth in promoting the implementation of sustainable development goals through digital transformation and innovation".

The thematic discussions will focus on 3 contents: Digital Transformation; Startups and Innovation; Promoting Cultural Diversity for Sustainable Development. These are all current world issues of interest to the IPU, parliaments of member countries and Young Parliamentarians; demonstrating Vietnam's substantial contribution in content, ensuring harmony of Vietnam's interests and the common interests of the region and the world, while promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation between young Vietnamese National Assembly deputies, Vietnamese youth and young parliamentarians and youth of other countries.

“This important event will continue to affirm the active, responsible and proactive participation of the Vietnamese National Assembly in the world's largest inter-parliamentary organization, the IPU,” emphasized Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong.

Carrying out the assigned tasks in Resolution No. 766/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated April 12, 2023 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Conference Organizing Committee has deployed and concretized the contents and activities, ensuring the correct orientation and foreign policy of the Party, especially on strengthening multilateral diplomacy, Resolution No. 22-NQ/TW of the Politburo on international integration and Directive No. 25-CT/TW of the Secretariat on promoting and enhancing multilateral diplomacy by 2030.

With the motto "Friendship, respect, thoughtfulness, safety, economy and efficiency," the Organizing Committee has approved the overall project on the preparation and organization of the Conference.

The Sub-committees and the National Secretariat have developed detailed Projects, specific implementation plans, and synchronously carried out preparation work.

One of the important initial activities is to build the Logo, Identity and Website of the Conference.

Mr. Bui Van Cuong stated that the Logo was designed to highlight two elements: The letter Y, the first letter of the word Youth, in English representing the Youth; the 5 letters Y represent delegates from five continents, gathered in Hanoi to attend the Conference.

Vietnam, as the host country, is placed in the center with red and yellow colors and a five-pointed star.

The Conference's website at Nghisitre.Quochoi.vn is built with 5 pages, 8 sections, presented in 2 languages: English and Vietnamese, with a direct link to the website of the 9th World Conference of Young Parliamentarians at: IPU.org.

"The development of the Logo, Identity Set and Website once again affirms Vietnam's active, responsible and proactive participation in organizing major IPU events. The initiative to organize the Logo, Identity Set and Website Announcement Ceremony before the Conference also received high appreciation from the international community and the IPU," said Mr. Bui Van Cuong.

In order to make the use of the Logo, Identity and Website of the Conference truly effective, the Secretary General of the National Assembly and the Head of the National Assembly Office requested the Subcommittees and the National Secretariat to coordinate closely, closely follow the orientation in the Project, use the Identity for the right purpose, and operate the Website for assigned tasks.

At the ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, National Assembly leaders and delegates pressed the button to launch the Logo and Conference Identity.

The Organizing Committee also announced the event's official website to serve domestic and international media.
