On average, in the first 7 months of 2023, CPI increased by 4.15% over the same period in 2022.
Compared to June, 6 groups of goods and services increased in price and 4 groups decreased in price, while the education group remained stable compared to the previous month. The main reason for the CPI increase was the increase in the price index of the housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials group, concentrated in items such as household electricity due to the prolonged hot weather leading to increased demand for electricity by people, and kerosene increased by 3.66%. The increase in the food and catering services group and the household equipment and appliances group was partly due to the impact of the "water splash" phenomenon following salary increases.
