According to the provincial Statistics Office, Hai Duong's consumer price index (CPI) in February increased by 0.05% compared to January, up 3.78% over the same period last year.
On average, in the first two months of 2024, CPI increased by 4.44% over the same period in 2023. Compared to January, 5 groups of goods and services increased in price and 5 groups decreased in price, except for the education group, which kept its price stable.
Some commodity groups had large price fluctuations, greatly affecting the CPI, such as: the transportation group increased by 2.56% due to the increase in gasoline prices by 5.89%. The food and catering services group increased by 0.87%, due to the increase in prices of many items such as rice, livestock meat, poultry, and processed meat. The February consumer price index increased due to the Lunar New Year, when people's shopping and consumption demand increased.
