According to the Provincial Statistics Office, Hai Duong's consumer price index (CPI) in January increased by 0.07% compared to December 2023, up 5.08% compared to January last year.
Compared to the previous month, 5 groups of goods and services increased in price and 5 groups decreased in price. Only the education group kept its price stable.
Of which, the price index of housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials group increased the highest with 0.58%, due to the increase of 1.2% in household electricity price and 4.48% in gas price. The culture, entertainment and tourism group decreased by 0.61%, mainly due to the decrease in cultural equipment such as television. The package tourism service group decreased by 5.17%, the food and catering service group decreased by 0.14%, mainly due to the decrease in food items.
Compared to December, the consumer price index this month increased as people started shopping for Tet.
