Ms. Hang in Thanh Ha was electrocuted and had to have both arms and one leg amputated. She needs help.

In Ngoc Lo village, Tan Viet commune, everyone feels sorry for the situation of Hoang Thi Hang and Pham Cong Dai.

The couple were both hard-working. Mr. Dai worked as a boatman, while Ms. Hang worked as a mortarman and occasionally cooked for hire to support their children's education.

3 months ago, while on a train, Ms. Hang's husband fell and tore the tendons and ligaments in his shoulder and arm, so he is weak and can only help with some light housework. Since then, Ms. Hang has been the main breadwinner, earning money to support her 2 children through college.

On January 2, an accident happened. Ms. Hang was electrocuted and had to have both arms and one leg amputated, and suffered burns to many parts of her body.

Ms. Pham Thi Huong, Mr. Dai's sister, said: "Hang is very hard-working. Now that the incident has happened, both families have pooled together and borrowed money to pay for the treatment, but it is beyond their ability. Currently, the cost of Hang's treatment has cost nearly 150 million VND."

Taking care of his wife in the hospital for many days, Mr. Dai, despite his weak limbs, always tried to encourage his wife. His eyes were sunken from lack of sleep and worry.

Mr. Dai sadly said: “My wife cried a lot. I encouraged her to eat but she ate very little. The doctor said that she would only be discharged after Tet. The cost of treatment is very high, I am very worried because my family cannot afford it.”

Ms. Hang's family is not well off. She and her husband have to take care of their elderly parents-in-law and send their two children to college.

The Red Cross Society of Tan Viet commune mobilized commune officials and civil servants and mobilized a number of individuals to help Ms. Hang’s family with more than 10 million VND. But this amount was not enough.
