ChatGPT supports registration with Vietnamese phone number

From November 2, users can register for a ChatGPT account without roaming or using a foreign phone number. In addition, OpenAI also supports purchasing ChatGPT Plus packages and APIs with Visa, Mastercard, and Vietnamese e-wallets.

Thanh Hung, an office worker in Hanoi, said that after making a payment of VND475,000 using MoMo wallet, he was able to access the Plus version, running on the GPT-4 platform. However, the speed of sending account confirmation codes is currently unstable, when he received the OTP on his phone after only a few seconds, while some friends tried the same operation many times on the application but failed.

According to Minh Tam, the administrator of a group sharing experiences using AI chatbots on Facebook, the problem of not receiving OTP can be solved by downloading the WhatsApp application. "Many members of the group said that WhatsApp receives OTP codes from OpenAI faster than the messaging application on the phone," he said.

Compared to ChatGPT on computers, the mobile application has advantages thanks to its flexibility, support for recording, and communication with AI by voice.

Users in Vietnam can experience ChatGPT directly on their smartphones through the following steps: download the application on the App Store or Google Play, then verify email and phone number, enter the OTP code sent to the phone, messaging application, and finally choose a payment method. With GPT-3.5, users can use it for free, while GPT-4 in the ChatGPT Plus version requires a fee of 20 USD.
