At the Patriotic Emulation Congress "Exemplary Veterans" on the morning of September 30, Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang asked veteran cadres and members to continue to be shining examples for the younger generation and the community to follow.
On the morning of September 30, the Hai Duong Veterans Association organized the 7th Patriotic Emulation Congress "Exemplary Veterans", period 2024-2029.

Speaking at the conference, Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang; Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong, Vice President of the Vietnam Veterans Association affirmed that the emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans" is a driving force for Hai Duong veterans to successfully complete their assigned tasks, actively contributing to the successful implementation of local socio-economic development tasks.
The comrades suggested that in the coming time, in order for the emulation movement to be highly effective, the Veterans Associations at all levels in the province need to continue to thoroughly grasp President Ho Chi Minh's viewpoints on patriotic emulation as well as the viewpoints, guidelines and policies of the Party and State; to be the vanguard force in the fight to defeat all plots and activities of hostile forces, bad elements, opportunists and law-breaking acts.
Each cadre and member needs to have a correct understanding of the position, meaning and importance of emulation work to carry out effective and practical movements. Actively innovate the content and methods of operation, improve the quality of activities; build a strong association in terms of politics, ideology and organization. In addition, proactively participate in solving urgent and outstanding problems at the grassroots level. Apply available policies and resources to help members develop the economy, reduce poverty and replicate advanced models. Effectively carry out "gratitude" and social security activities in the area.
With their own prestige, enthusiasm and experience, veteran members need to pay attention to educating the younger generation about revolutionary traditions, patriotism and aspirations to rise up. Each cadre and member continues to be a shining example for the younger generation and the community to follow. In 2025, all levels of the Veterans Association in the province need to have a plan to contribute opinions to the documents of the Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 18th Provincial Party Congress and the 14th National Party Congress...
At the congress, the leaders of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association awarded the emulation flag to the Hai Duong Veterans Association for its outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans" for the period 2019-2024. 22 collectives and individuals received certificates of merit from the Central Association, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Veterans Association. On this occasion, representatives of a number of units and enterprises donated 480 million VND to support the repair of the "Comradeship House".
The Hai Duong Veterans Association currently has about 114,000 members, an increase of 15,811 members compared to the previous term. Through annual reviews, over 98% of the association's grassroots organizations have fulfilled their tasks well. 98.5% of members have achieved the title of exemplary members, and over 98% of member families have achieved the title of cultural families. In the period of 2019-2024, the Veterans Association at all levels in the province mobilized 810.64 billion VND to help and support 10,482 members facing production difficulties; creating regular jobs for over 20,000 workers. Repairing and building 271 new houses for members in difficult circumstances. Up to now, the percentage of veteran families in poverty is only 0.35%, down nearly 1% compared to 2019.
In the construction of new rural areas, cadres, members and families of veterans donated 97,932 m² of land, 24,967 working days, planted 408,000 trees and contributed over 28 billion VND to complete the criteria of new rural areas.
