Police and soldiers used ultrasound equipment to detect explosives at the scene of two consecutive explosions that killed two people and injured two others in Quy Hop district (Nghe An).

On the morning of August 30, the leader of Tam Hop commune, Quy Hop district, said that through inspection, the authorities determined that there were explosives at the scene at the house of Mr. Hoang Van Quang (61 years old, deceased), but have not yet determined what kind of explosives are hidden under the rubble. Currently, more than 20 people, including engineering soldiers and police, are using dozens of the most modern ultrasound equipment to search for explosives at the scene.

Three days ago, Mr. Quang’s nearly 100-square-meter house next to Highway 48C, in Quyet Tien hamlet, Tam Hop commune, exploded loudly, causing the wall of the kitchen, about 30 square meters, to collapse in pieces and the corrugated iron roof to fly into the garden. Mr. Quang and his wife, Hoang Thi Huong, died on the spot. The neighbor’s house had broken windows and broken glass doors, and the pickup truck parked in the garage had its front windshield cracked.

Yesterday afternoon, Mr. Tran Cao Huy (37 years old, excavator driver) and Mr. Phan Huy Sang (30 years old, truck driver) were hired to clean up the rubble at Mr. Quang's kitchen. At 4 pm, while the machines were working, a loud explosion came from the rubble, causing Mr. Huy and Sang to be thrown several meters away, seriously injured. The two victims were taken to the hospital by local people for emergency treatment, and are now in stable condition.

In addition to farming, Mr. Quang and his wife also sell breakfast. Their three children are grown, studying and working far away. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
