According to initial investigation, around January 2023, Tung went to Da Nang to work as a chef and had a love relationship with Ms. NTD (22 years old, residing in Hoa Tho Dong ward, Cam Le district).

Seeing Ms. D. selling goods to customers, Tung walked around behind her and took a knife to slash his girlfriend, causing the victim to collapse.
After slashing Ms. D., Tung continued to drag the victim outside and then took a knife to commit suicide, but was restrained by people who rushed in and took Ms. D. to the emergency room.
