Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Director of the Legal Department, Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, was temporarily detained by the security investigation agency on charges of intentionally revealing state secrets.
On May 9, Hanoi City Police announced that the Security Investigation Agency had issued a decision to initiate criminal proceedings, prosecute the accused, and issue a temporary detention order against Mr. Nguyen Van Binh (51 years old, residing in Cau Giay District, Hanoi), Director of the Legal Department, Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
Mr. Binh was prosecuted and temporarily detained on charges of intentionally disclosing state secrets, as stipulated in Article 337 of the Penal Code.
According to Decision No. 1986 dated December 30, 2019, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh was appointed to the position of Director of the Legal Department, Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs from January 1, 2020.
Mr. Binh is an expert in developing long-term legal dissemination and education programs and plans, submitting them annually to the Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and organizing the implementation of programs and plans after approval. These include laws on labor, meritorious people, social affairs, etc.
