Three hours after committing the robbery, suspect Truong Hung Duc was arrested by police at a motel in Linh Chieu ward, Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh city.
On the afternoon of February 22, Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with professional units of Thu Duc City Police to arrest a suspect involved in a robbery at FPT Shop in Linh Tay ward.
Initial information shows that the suspect was arrested at a motel in Linh Chieu ward, Thu Duc city, just 3 hours after committing the crime.
According to the Investigation Police Agency, the suspect was identified as Truong Hung Duc (born in 2003, from Tuy Hoa district, Phu Yen). The seized evidence was more than 150 million VND.
After robbing the money, Duc brought it back to his rented room on Street 7 (Linh Chieu Ward) to hide and has not used it yet.
Authorities are continuing to take statements to complete the file for handling according to the provisions of law.
Before that, at around 1:00 p.m. the same day, a young man drove a motorbike to the FPT Shop store at the intersection of Pham Van Dong - To Ngoc Van.
After stopping the car, the man entered the store, pulled out a knife, threatened the staff and robbed them. He then took his motorbike and quickly left the scene.
Upon receiving the report, authorities arrived, extracted data from security cameras, examined the scene, and arrested the suspect.
