On the morning of September 25, leaders of Hai Duong Newspaper visited and presented support money to 5 families in difficult circumstances, affected by storm No. 3 in Nam Sach district and Chi Linh city, each family received 2 million VND.
In Nam Sach district, Editor-in-Chief of Hai Duong Newspaper Nguyen Quy Trong visited and presented money to support the families of Mr. Le Quang Dat (in Mac Binh village) whose 3-room house lost its roof and is currently staying with others; Mr. Tran Danh Vi (in Giua village, Thai Tan commune) whose 3-room house lost half of its roof and is temporarily staying in the remaining room; and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nham (in Hoang Hanh area, Nam Sach town), whose house also lost its roof and is in extremely difficult circumstances.
In Chi Linh City, the Editor-in-Chief of Hai Duong Newspaper visited and presented money to support the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Thuan (in An Mo village, Le Loi commune) whose main house roof was blown off, the kitchen and household appliances were severely damaged and could no longer be used; and the family of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Luyen (in Do Xa village, Hoang Tan ward), whose house roof was blown off. Mrs. Luyen's husband and eldest son had passed away, and her daughter-in-law left home, leaving behind two young grandchildren for her to care for and raise.
At the places he visited, Editor-in-Chief of Hai Duong Newspaper Nguyen Quy Trong asked about the health and property damage of the families, and encouraged them to quickly overcome difficulties, repair their houses, and stabilize their lives after the storm.
Nam Sach District and Chi Linh City are two localities that suffered heavy damage due to storm No. 3. Preliminary statistics show that Nam Sach District suffered more than 70 billion VND in housing damage, with many houses having their roofs completely blown off. In Chi Linh City, storm No. 3 damaged more than 11,000 houses with nearly 94 billion VND in damage, many of which had difficulty repairing their houses.
Previously, responding to the call of the Hai Duong Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Hai Duong Provincial Labor Federation, Hai Duong Provincial Civil Servants' Union, promoting the spirit of mutual love and support for Hai Duong people to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3, Hai Duong Newspaper launched a campaign for cadres, civil servants and workers to donate at least 1 day's salary.
The total amount collected was over 24.6 million VND. Hai Duong Newspaper transferred over 14.6 million VND to the Hai Duong Province Relief Fund account, the remaining amount was given directly to 5 poor households that suffered heavy damage due to the storm.
In recent years, in addition to promptly reporting political, economic, social information and events, Hai Duong Newspaper journalists have, together with the Party Committee, government, many organizations and philanthropists, promoted social work, fulfilling the role of a bridge to bring "golden hearts" to the poor, contributing to helping them rise up in life, spreading the message of love and kindness, attracting many people from all walks of life to join hands in response.
