Leaders of Victory Primary, Secondary and High School (Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak) confirmed that after breakfast at school on November 10, 8 students showed signs of stomachache and were taken to Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital for examination.
According to school leaders, about 1,700 students from different grades and classes ate the same food at breakfast, but only eight students had stomach aches.
The school is currently working with the provincial Food Safety Department to test food samples. The health of the eight children has stabilized and they have been discharged from the hospital.
Regarding the incident, information from Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital said that at around 11:15 a.m. on November 10, the hospital received eight students showing symptoms of nausea, dizziness, and abdominal pain.
After examination, the doctor diagnosed these students with digestive disorders and discharged them from the hospital.
Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training Pham Dang Khoa said the Department has received information related to the suspected food poisoning incident at Victory Primary, Secondary and High School; at the same time, requested the school to report the incident for handling according to regulations.
