Hai Duong directs synchronous implementation of measures to prevent and handle food poisoning

Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee requests relevant departments and branches; District People's Committees to synchronously implement solutions to prevent and handle food poisoning.

Recently, there have been a number of mass food poisoning cases across the country. The poisoning incident occurred in Long Khanh City (Dong Nai) on April 30, 2024, with over 450 people hospitalized for treatment.

Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Health to step up propaganda and dissemination of food safety knowledge related to the risk of food poisoning and prevention of poisoning, especially at tourist attractions, festivals, ready-to-eat food processing establishments, collective kitchens, food and beverage establishments, and street food. Strengthen inter-sectoral coordination, inspect compliance with food safety laws, and strictly handle violations. Direct medical units to prepare plans for handling, providing emergency care, and timely treatment for people with food poisoning...

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Industry and Trade deploy solutions to ensure food safety in the areas assigned to their management.

The Department of Information and Communications, Hai Duong Newspaper, and the provincial Radio and Television Station coordinate to promote propaganda on measures to ensure food safety in food production, processing, trading and consumption, and to prevent food poisoning.

The District People's Committee is responsible for managing food safety in the area under its management; strengthening the management of food safety conditions for small-scale food production and trading establishments, street food, catering establishments and markets according to the management hierarchy.
