4 mother and children in Dong Nai call for help from police because of abuse

The mother and her four children repeatedly asked for help from the police of Long Binh Tan ward, Bien Hoa city (Dong Nai) because they were continuously abused by their husbands and had to be hospitalized.

On May 2, Long Binh Tan Ward Police (Bien Hoa City) said that the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Y. (44 years old) and Mr. Le Anh D. had been in discord and conflict for quite a while. Every time the couple had a conflict, Ms. Y. called the ward police to resolve it.

“Every time there was a disagreement, we sent forces to intervene and make a record of the incident, and invited both of them to work. Most recently, in March, Mr. D. had a fight with his daughter. The ward police made a record and transferred the case to the investigation agency for handling according to regulations,” informed the head of Long Binh Tan ward police.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Y, she has been married for 20 years and has 3 children, 2 girls and 1 boy. In the past, she was often insulted, cursed, beaten, and had bruises on her body, eyes and nose, and a dislocated jaw. There were times she was beaten up to 3 times a week and had to be hospitalized.

In addition to being insulted and humiliated, Ms. Y. said she also had to endure beatings, often occurring late at night, even at 1-2 am.

“One time, the 113 police came to rescue me in the bathroom and took my husband to the police station. However, after that, my husband was still the same, and after a short time, he continued to abuse his wife and children,” Ms. Y. recounted.

Ms. Y. called the police for help because of abuse.

According to Ms. Y., not only did he abuse his wife, but he also mentally terrorized his children. Recently, the second child (16 years old) was also punched in the eye by Mr. D. Before that, the eldest daughter (20 years old) was beaten, cursed, and kicked out of the house by her father. She currently has to rent a house in Ho Chi Minh City to live. The youngest son (10 years old) is mentally disturbed and often cries at night. All four of us live in fear and mental panic. Worried about the safety of our children, I rented a house for the three of us to live.

Meanwhile, Mr. Le Anh D. said that he and his wife had quarrels, but not often. The most recent time was when my second daughter and I had an argument, and then there was a struggle. I accidentally hit her glasses, the glasses broke, causing her eyes to bleed. I also reported this to the police station...
