The Ministry of Education and Training has just announced a list of 139 students exempted from the high school graduation exam and directly admitted to university in 2024. Hai Duong has 3 students, all of whom are students of Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted (Hai Duong City).

The first is Ta Dinh Tam, a 12th grade math major, a former student of Nguyen Hue Secondary School, from Cam Phuc Commune (Cam Giang). He won second prize in the national excellent student competition for the 2023-2024 school year in math. He plans to study computer science at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Second is Vu Thi Thao, a 12th grader majoring in biology, a former student of Lien Hong Secondary School, from Lien Hong Commune (Hai Duong City). She won second prize in the national excellent student competition for the 2023-2024 school year in biology. She plans to study at Hanoi Medical University.

Third is Dao Huy Hoang, a 12th grader majoring in IT, a former student of Vo Thi Sau Secondary School, residing in Le Thanh Nghi Ward (Hai Duong City). He won the first prize in the national excellent student competition in the 2023-2024 school year in IT. Hoang won a silver medal in 10th grade, a bronze medal in 11th grade for excellent students in the coastal region of the Northern Delta; a silver medal in the National Natural Science Olympiad in 10th grade; first prize in the Youth Informatics Competition at the city and provincial levels of Hai Duong; third prize in the Youth Informatics Competition in the Northern region; second prize in the excellent student competition in 11th grade and third prize in the excellent student competition at the provincial level in 12th grade.
These are 3 students who have participated in the exam to select high school students for national teams to compete in regional and international Olympics in 2024. According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, all 3 students are exempted from the high school graduation exam and will be directly admitted to university in 2024.
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, these candidates must still register for direct admission to the universities and colleges they wish to attend and complete the admission confirmation procedures on the Ministry's system within the prescribed time. Accordingly, candidates must submit unlimited applications for direct admission to university training institutions, according to the instructions of the universities, no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 30.
Schools will consider direct admission and notify candidates of the results; update the list of candidates admitted for direct admission to the system no later than July 10.
From July 22 to 5:00 p.m. on July 31, candidates who have passed the direct admission exam and are eligible for direct admission can confirm their admission on the system (candidates who have confirmed their admission will not be allowed to continue registering their admission wishes, except in cases where the head of the training institution allows them not to enroll). In cases where they have not yet confirmed their admission, candidates can continue to register their wishes on the system or the national public service portal like other candidates for schools to consider their admission. If they are admitted, they will enroll according to the general schedule.
