A neighbor's house dug up the foundation for construction, causing the adjacent house in Son Tay town (Hanoi) to collapse, while another house tilted and sank.
On November 5, Son Tay Town Police (Hanoi) said that at around 6:30 p.m. on November 4, the family of Ms. NTX (born in 1941) was digging a foundation for construction. The process of digging the foundation caused a landslide, tilting and collapsing the neighbor's house owned by Mr. N.D.T. (born in 1967).
According to a video shared on social media, the 2-story house tilted and collapsed in a split second, the entire structure of the house was destroyed.
The house collapse did not cause any casualties because people inside saw the house tilting and at risk of collapsing so they ran outside.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Son Tay Town Police quickly arrived to move people out of the dangerous area.
To ensure safety, authorities have blocked off the surrounding area to avoid potential risks from the incident.
Property damage has not been estimated as the two families are negotiating a settlement.
The collapsed house also affected another 3-story house next door. Currently, this high-rise building is showing signs of tilting, making many people worried and restless.
