1 person died while fighting forest fire in Tuyen Quang

According to information from the People's Committee of Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang province, by 8:00 a.m. on March 22, the forest fires at Nghiem mountain, Hoang Khai commune, Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang province had been extinguished.

To ensure the fires do not flare up again, authorities remain at the scene to respond.

Authorities said there was one death while fighting a forest fire. The victim was Dong Dai Cuong, born in 1985, from Nui Cai village, Hoang Khai commune, Yen Son district.

The fire damaged about 20 hectares of natural forest (mixed forest).

Previously, at around 12 o'clock on March 21, at lot 15, section 559 in Nghiem mountain area, Hoang Khai commune, Yen Son district, a forest fire broke out.

The initial cause was determined to be due to people burning vegetation on the mountain to make fields, along with dry weather and strong winds leading to an uncontrolled fire, causing the fire to spread to surrounding areas.

Immediately after receiving the news, Tuyen Quang province mobilized thousands of people, including military forces, police, militia and local people to urgently approach the scene and deploy rescue measures.

The forces had to walk through the forest for 3-4 km, using manpower to build nearly 1,000 m of fire-division runway to control the fire and fight the fire all night to prevent it from spreading.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. Yen Son District has directed forces to closely coordinate to support and visit the victim's family.
