Humidity will continue to appear in Hai Duong this month.

Hai Duong area is experiencing a long period of dampness and high humidity, causing impacts on people's lives, production and travel.

The provincial Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that this wet spell will end on March 16 when a cold spell from the North moves into our country. The cold spell is of medium intensity and is expected to last until March 19.

From March 16 to 19, areas in the province will turn cold with the lowest temperature from 14 to 17 degrees Celsius, the highest from 22 to 23 degrees Celsius. During this period, the weather is basically dry but there will also be some times during the day when there will be light rain and drizzle.

The leader of the provincial Hydrometeorological Station said that after March 19, the cold air is expected to weaken and shift to the east. Low-level easterly winds blowing from the sea to the mainland carry a lot of water vapor. At an altitude of 1,500 m, because they are no longer controlled by cold air, hot air currents from the west will develop to the east. This will prevent low-level easterly winds from escaping, accumulating and continuing to cause dampness.

Therefore, from around March 19 to 31, Hai Duong area is forecasted to suffer at least one more wet spell.

Damp weather creates opportunities for fungi, viruses, and bacteria to grow, causing common diseases such as chickenpox, dermatitis, diarrhea, allergic rhinitis, bronchial asthma, and pneumonia. This type of weather makes houses, clothes, and household items always damp, causing discomfort. On crops, dampness also creates conditions for many types of pests to cause harm.

People need to pay attention to implementing recommendations from experts to protect their health and production during prolonged humid days.
