University and college admissions in 2025 at the same time

Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training, announced the above information at the admissions consultation festival organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper in Ho Chi Minh City on March 2.

"The ministry's general admission system will consider candidates' wishes at both college and university levels, instead of just university as in previous years," said Ms. Thuy.

According to Ms. Thuy, the ministry's system will add a list of colleges as well as the training majors of each school. All transcripts, high school graduation exam scores and results of individual exams of candidates will also be uploaded to the system and considered for admission in one round.

Candidates can register for majors and schools according to their needs, at both college and university levels. They can take advantage of the best results, in any way, to set their wishes, reducing costs and efforts. Meanwhile, schools can limit the virtual ratio, choosing good quality candidates.

Ms. Thuy said that the university admission regulations will be announced in early March, and it is expected that early admission will be eliminated and priority points will be tightened. Schools that consider admission based on transcripts must use the entire 12th grade score; the standard scores of all methods and combinations will be converted to the same scale.

Last year, about 1.1 million candidates registered for the high school graduation exam. Of these, more than 730,000 registered for university admission on the Ministry of Education and Training's system.
