At least 12 people were killed and 23 others injured in a road accident on the morning of October 15 after a minibus collided with a container truck in the western state of Maharashtra, Indian police said.
The accident occurred on the Samruddhi Expressway in Vaijapur area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, about 268 km east of Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra state. According to sources, there were 35 passengers on the bus at the time of the accident.
According to police, the victims' bodies have been removed from the scene. Police have opened an investigation into the cause of the accident.
