17-year-old "King of Vietnamese" wants to conquer "Road to Olympia"

Do Viet Hung - 11th grade student at Le Quy Don High School (Ha Dong, Hanoi) loves history, playing table tennis and soccer. At work or in study, Hung is a careful and meticulous person. In life, he is cheerful and sociable. Especially, he hopes to become a contestant on the program Road to Olympia.

Winning the title of King of Vietnamese is the result of 4 dramatic and intense confrontations between Viet Hung and his opponents. With the prize money of 320 million VND, Viet Hung will buy books, read and review carefully to conquer the Road to Olympia.,treat the whole family to a "decent" meal.

The male student said he was “sweating” after the third match when he won the prize of 160 million VND. Therefore, in the last match, he studied and gained more knowledge to win.

Sharing about the strategy to win, Viet Hung expressed: "At first, my strategy was to guess from the vertical row first, but it was too difficult, so I switched to the horizontal row, using the hints to imagine the word I wanted to say and fill in."

Language Doctor Do Anh Vu said that this is a record for the program King of Vietnamese because the player is so young to win the highest prize.

“I think, whoever has passed the 4 rounds and won the title of King of Vietnamese has a very good sensitivity to Vietnamese. Surely that person is a good reader, diligent in learning and practicing Vietnamese every day.

Viet Hung's opponent is no less. But perhaps winning depends on many factors, besides language ability, one must also have a calm and comfortable mentality. Young people have more resilience and a more comfortable mentality," said Dr. of Language Do Anh Vu.

Doctor of Literature Do Thanh Nga was very surprised with the youngest player in the program but he was quite mature, had quick reflexes and especially had a solid grasp of general knowledge.

"I think Viet Hung's victory at King of Vietnamese is completely deserved. Part 4 is very difficult, Hung has the ability to speak logically from words. Hung has a solid grasp of general knowledge, so he can answer almost all questions related to vocabulary and terminology.

Our advisory board was surprised by the young generation because we thought they had to work and go through life experiences to have such a rich language vocabulary," Dr. Do Thanh Nga expressed.
