Minh Thien's journey from a boy from Tu Ky countryside to an international model

From a young man who knew nothing about art, Nguyen Minh Thien (real name Nguyen Van Thang, born in 1996) has won spectacularly in two major national and international competitions. This country boy always wishes to bring the image of the beautiful land of Hai Duong, rich in cultural identity, closer to domestic and international friends through the projects he is nurturing.

Surprise

Minh Thien's path to art was quite surprising. In early 2024, while traveling to Saigon, he happened to meet some veteran artists. With a professional eye, they saw the hidden artistic qualities in him, so they invited him to participate in the "Promising Faces of the Cinema and Stage" Contest licensed by the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City. At that time, Minh Thien was still hesitant because he had never participated in the art field, so he did not know if he could do it or not? With passion, desire to explore and love of art, he decided to try.

Coming to the competition, Minh Thien encountered countless difficulties, because most of the contestants had participated in acting or were famous TikTokers. And especially, he was not married but played the role of a noble, patriarchal, and abusive son. In addition to the support of previous artists, friends participating in the competition, and co-stars, Minh Thien painstakingly researched and learned about the character through plays, movies, and stories to grasp the psychological developments, how to express actions, and appropriate expressions.

With the spirit of learning as the main thing, when he was named "Ho Chi Minh City Cinema King", he was surprised and proud. This was the foundation that laid the first bricks for him to go further on the artistic path.

During his tenure, he was invited by several entertainment companies to participate in several international competitions. The opportunity came to him on a winter afternoon, he agreed to participate in the I Am Model Search International 2025 contest, copyrighted by Double Event Management (Malaysia), hosted by Thailand in Bangkok. With a tight schedule and a lot of work, Minh Thien practiced day and night how to pose on the catwalk with experts.

During the competition in Thailand, Minh Thien also encountered many difficulties with language, diet, lifestyle... But with his own efforts and the encouragement of friends and colleagues, he surpassed more than 60 contestants from over 20 countries and became the winner.

"When the Organizing Committee announced the winner from Vietnam, I was very surprised and moved. All the efforts of the individual and the team were duly rewarded," said Mr. Thien.

Bringing Hai Duong closer to domestic and international friends

That is the wish and cherished dream of Nguyen Minh Thien after achieving some initial successes on the artistic path.

Born and raised in a farming family, no one worked in the arts, but with a passion for acting, Minh Thien passed the entrance exam to an acting school in Hanoi. He tried hard to learn and improve his knowledge to achieve success.

After becoming the "Cinema King", in his hometown Tu Ky, Minh Thien organized the fashion show "Dau im thanh xuan" with the participation of many young and famous models in the country. This program contributed to introducing the beauty of the people and land of Tu Ky to people across the country.

Sharing about his plans for the future, in addition to fulfilling his responsibilities as the champion of the "International Model Search 2025" contest, he also plans to promote the image of Hai Duong to domestic and international friends. He plans to invite a number of domestic models to perform in his hometown of Tu Ky, Hai Duong City's walking street. At the end of this year, Double Event Management will organize the Mister Cosmopolitan International Contest. Minh Thien is proposing that the Organizing Committee choose Hai Duong as the host. "If that is the case, this will be an opportunity for the kings of the countries to promote the image, land and people of Hai Duong closer to domestic and international friends," Minh Thien shared.
