On the afternoon of March 23, Bao Loc City Forest Protection Department (Lam Dong) quickly reported on the poor forest fire that occurred in Dai Lao commune, Sub-region 484, from the evening to midnight on March 22.
Accordingly, according to a quick count by the forest rangers on the morning of March 23, the fire damaged about 2 hectares of depleted forest, which is a protected forest (mainly shrubs, bamboo, and reeds). Of which, about 1 hectare of forest was completely burned.
On the same morning, the authorities inspected the location of the fire to prevent the risk of fire reoccurrence, and measured the damaged forest area to serve the investigation and clarify the cause of the incident.
Previously, a devastating forest fire in Sub-area 484 (Dai Lao Commune, Bao Loc City) was discovered on the evening of March 22.
After receiving the information, the local authorities mobilized about 60 people to participate in fighting the fire, deploying fire barriers to prevent the fire from spreading. However, due to the rugged terrain, dry weather, and strong winds, fire fighting encountered many difficulties.
By 7:00 p.m. the same day, the forces had created a firebreak line to contain the fire within a radius of more than 2 hectares.
It was not until 11 p.m. the same day that the fire was completely extinguished, without spreading to the natural protective forest area and the planted pine forest nearby.
