Hai Duong maintains highest level forest fire warning for more than 1 month

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting and the monitoring synthesis of the Hai Duong Forest Protection Department, from December 27, 2023 to January 1, 2024, there will be no rain or light rain in all areas of Hai Duong province, with insignificant rainfall, dry weather, reduced air humidity and combustible material humidity. The forest fire forecast level in Chi Linh City and Kinh Mon Town remains at level V - extremely dangerous level, with the possibility of large fires in all types of forests, and rapid fire spread.

To be proactive in forest protection, prevention and reduction of the number of fires and damage caused by forest fires, Hai Duong Forest Protection Department requested Chi Linh Forest Protection Department and Kinh Mon Forest Protection Department to continue advising the People's Committee of Chi Linh City and Kinh Mon Town to direct the implementation of the Provincial People's Committee's directives and plans on strengthening urgent measures in forest protection and forest fire prevention and fighting in Hai Duong province.

Direct the police, military, forest rangers, forest owners and People's Committees of communes and wards to increase patrols and strict inspections from 2-7 p.m. every day in key areas, especially special-use forests and protective forests, to detect early and mobilize firefighting forces in a timely manner to minimize damage caused by forest fires.

Ensure that forces are on duty 24/7, including holidays. All activities of clearing vegetation and burning gardens are strictly prohibited. Prepare plans to mobilize forces and means to respond to forest fire situations according to the "4 on-site" principle, resolutely not allowing large fires to occur.

Local radio stations regularly and promptly announce the forecast level, warning of forest fire risks, regulations on fire use in forests, forest edges and daily forest fire situations in the locality so that authorities, forest owners and people can grasp and be proactive in forest fire prevention and fighting.

In 2023, Hai Duong identified 10 key forest fire prevention areas that need to be protected, including 6 key areas in Chi Linh and 4 key areas in Kinh Mon.

Previously, from November 24, Hai Duong Forestry Department issued the highest level forest fire warning, level V, and has been maintained until now.
