The beauty of the trillion-dollar road in Cat Ba Island

The road with one side being the blue sea and the other side being mountains and forests is about 20 km long.

The route starts from Cai Vieng ferry to Cat Ba town. The road surface is 12 m wide, the sidewalk is 3 m wide.

The road winds along the foot of the mountain, creating many bends and slopes like in the Northwest, but softer and easier to travel.

Since the end of 2019, Cat Hai District People's Committee has invested64 billion VNDto plant flowers along both sides of the road to the island. Hundreds of pots were cast in concrete to fill with soil to plant flowers and placed along the road.

This season, many bougainvillea trees have begun to bloom.

One of three lookout hills was also built along the route. At each lookout hill there is a hut larger than 140 m2.

The hut is designed in an octagonal shape made of ironwood. The purpose of construction is for visitors to stop and admire the scenery, check-in, and have new experiences when coming to Cat Ba pearl island.

The path up to the hut and around the lookout hill are built with green stone railings. The campus is covered with grass and planted with ornamental trees.

A group of young people went backpacking to Cat Ba Island and stopped to rest and enjoy the scenery at the Observation Hill.

The remaining two lookout hills are being completed by the construction unit.

The route runs through fields and residential areas in Xuan Dam commune, Cat Hai district. Local authorities expect the route to contribute to increasing traffic connectivity and promoting tourism development.
