Measles vaccination rate for children in Hai Duong reaches nearly 99%

According to the Hai Duong Province Center for Disease Control, through reviewing vaccination data, the measles vaccination rate for children aged 1-5 years old in the province reached nearly 99%. Of which, the rate of children under 1 year old receiving the first dose was 98.64%, and the rate of children receiving the second dose was 98.4%. It is expected that this time, measles vaccination will be carried out for about 9,500 children. The implementation time is before March 31.

From the beginning of the year to March 17, the whole province recorded 119 cases of measles scattered in localities. Hai Duong city recorded the highest number of cases in the province with 71 cases. Of these, 72.7% of the cases had not been fully vaccinated against measles, including 53.4% ​​of the cases who had not been fully vaccinated and 19.3% of the cases who were not old enough to be vaccinated (under 9 months old).

Currently, the measles vaccination rate in the province ensures community immunity, limiting the occurrence of measles outbreaks. However, to control the measles situation well, especially when the disease is complicated in some localities across the country, the Department of Health requests the Provincial Center for Disease Control to closely monitor the epidemic situation, recommend people to take preventive measures.
