Many people brought their children and grandchildren to commune, ward and town health stations to get vaccinated against measles this morning. This is the first time Hai Duong has launched a province-wide measles vaccination campaign.

She said: "The measles epidemic is complicated in many localities across the country. When I got vaccinated against measles, I felt much more secure."During this period, Hai Duong plans to vaccinate about 20,468 children from 1 to 5 years old who have not received enough measles vaccine doses as prescribed. Many children are allowed by their parents to stay home from school to go to the health station for vaccination. After injection, children are monitored at the medical station for 30 minutes. In addition to children of age eligible for measles vaccination, 1,767 health workers at risk at medical examination and treatment facilities treating measles patients who have not received enough doses of measles-containing vaccine will be vaccinated this time.
This is the first time Hai Duong has organized a province-wide measles vaccination campaign. The campaign will be held from October 25-30 for children aged 1-5 and health workers at risk at medical facilities treating measles patients who have not received enough doses of measles-containing vaccine.
According to the provincial Center for Disease Control, since the beginning of the year, the unit has recorded 4 positive cases of measles. Meanwhile, from 2019-2023, the vaccination rate for children aged 18-24 months was only over 86% on average, and in some years it was only over 56%, so the implementation of the campaign is necessary to increase the vaccination rate and ensure community immunity.
