Recalling more than 70,000 vehicles from 5 leading Korean manufacturers and businesses

BNEWS Kia, BMW Korea, Renault Korea, Tesla Korea, Jaguar Land Rover Korea recalled a total of 76,382 vehicles of 37 different models to repair defective components.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea, the top five Korean automobile manufacturers and dealers, Kia, BMW Korea, Renault Korea, Tesla Korea, Jaguar Land Rover Korea, are bringing a total of 76,382 vehicles of 37 different models back to their factories to repair defective parts.

Issues that led to the recalls included faulty airbag systems in Kia's Niro electric vehicle, problems with the coolant pump wiring connector in BMW's 528i and transformer software issues in Renault Korea's Arkana sport utility vehicle.

Meanwhile, Tesla said it would return the faulty electric power steering (EPAS) system on its Model Y SUV to its factory. The Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport warned owners of the above models to check the Korean Government's website at www.car.go.kr or call 080-357-2500 to see if their vehicle is included in the recall.
