According to information from Ford Vietnam, there are a total of 4,142 Explorers in circulation that are defective and must be recalled. All of these vehicles were manufactured between May 17, 2010 and March 3, 2019.

On the recalled vehicles, some of the A-pillar outer trim clips may not be properly seated, causing the A-pillar trim to become loose, partially detached, or lost. This may be due to improper installation or repair.

Ford Vietnam has also sent notices to each customer who owns a vehicle under the program and posted the program content on the company's website. The company has also authorized dealers to inspect and repair any loose or missing A-pillars free of charge (including spare parts and installation costs).

Estimated time required for this process is less than half a day. However, due to repair scheduling requirements, the dealer may need to keep the vehicle longer.

Ford Explorer is officially sold, first appearing in Vietnam since 2016. The version currently on sale is the sixth generation, launched to Vietnamese customers in February 2022.
