On January 9, member "Pham Dai An" shared on the "Nam Sach mot mien que" Facebook page about a child being kidnapped to China; asking everyone to share so that the child can soon return to his family. Attached to the post is a picture of a Vietnamese policewoman holding the child.
Experienced Facebook users can use Google's image search tool and easily detect that this is false information.
The child in the article was abandoned, not kidnapped, and this happened in 2017. The child was abandoned in My Dinh 2 Ward, Nam Tu Liem District (Hanoi). After that, the child was handed over to the ward police and was taken care of by Lieutenant Khuat Khanh Ly, waiting for his family to pick him up.
Although the original article is from 2021, after being shared, this article has received many interactions, causing many people to mistakenly think this is a recent story.
