According to regulations, domestic workers also need to sign labor contracts. Therefore, they are subject to the regional minimum wage according to Decree 74/2024/ND-CP issued by the government in 2024.
According to the decree, the monthly minimum wage and hourly minimum wage applicable to employees working under labor contracts (with established labor relations between employees and employers) in regions I, II, III, and IV are VND 4,960,000, VND 4,410,000, VND 3,860,000, and VND 3,450,000, respectively.
If you negotiate hourly wages, regions I, II, III, and IV are 23,800 VND, 21,200 VND, 18,600 VND, and 16,600 VND, respectively.
According to Clause 2, Article 89 of Decree 145/2020/ND-CP, the salary according to the job, including the cost of food and accommodation of the employee at the employer's family (if any), must not be lower than the regional minimum wage.
Therefore, you can base on the above regional minimum wage to pay the appropriate maid.
