On November 20, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol began a week-long visit to the UK and France.
According to the schedule, Mr. Yoon Suk Yeol went to the UK on a state visit to celebrate the 140th anniversary of bilateral relations, then went to France to carry out a diplomatic campaign to win the right to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan.
President Yoon Suk Yeol is on a four-day visit to London at the invitation of King Charles III. President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim Keon Hee are the first British state guests since King Charles III's coronation in May, the South Korean presidential office said.
President Yoon Suk Yeol will then travel to Paris to meet with representatives from member countries of the Bureau International des Expositions, the agency responsible for overseeing the World Expo, in the final push ahead of a vote to select the host country for the event in 2030.
The vote to select the host city will take place on November 28. It is a three-horse race, with South Korea competing alongside Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Rome, Italy.
