Prime Minister requests full payment of salaries and Tet bonuses to workers

The Prime Minister requested to ensure full payment of salaries, bonuses and arrangement of Tet holidays according to regulations for civil servants, public employees and workers.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just issued a directive requesting ministries, branches and localities to strengthen measures to ensure a joyful, healthy, safe and economical Lunar New Year 2024.

In 2023, despite continuing to face many difficulties and challenges, with the efforts of the entire political system, our country's socio-economic situation has changed positively, basically achieving the set general goals.

In the directive, the Prime Minister requested to strengthen inspection and implement measures to ensure occupational safety and hygiene, ensuring that civil servants, public employees and workers are paid full salaries and bonuses and arranged Tet holidays according to regulations.

In addition, it is necessary to fully implement social insurance and unemployment insurance policies and regimes; proactively develop solutions to prevent and handle labor disputes that may occur during the Lunar New Year. Support and create conditions to ensure that Vietnamese workers abroad can celebrate the Lunar New Year according to the customs and traditions of the nation and in accordance with actual conditions.

Regarding the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Prime Minister requested to closely monitor and grasp the market situation, proactively direct localities to have plans to prepare supplies of essential goods and goods with high consumer demand, ensuring quality, fully and promptly meeting demand.

Strictly handle violations of the law on competition, hoarding, price listing, trading, transporting, and storing prohibited goods, smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, counterfeit goods, and poor quality goods.

The Prime Minister noted that it is necessary to ensure energy supply such as electricity and gasoline for the domestic market before, during and after Tet, and absolutely not allow shortages in any situation.

Do not let people delay returning home for Tet

The Head of Government assigned the Ministry of Health to preside over and coordinate with ministries, branches and localities to direct units and localities to strengthen measures to prevent and control epidemics, especially epidemics that are at risk of breaking out in the winter - spring season and dangerous new epidemics that are likely to enter our country. The Ministry of Health needs to ensure adequate medicine to treat diseases, and to prevent sudden price increases, scarcity and shortage of medicine.

Regarding the Ministry of Transport, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to strengthen the regulation and strict management of transportation activities to serve people's travel needs during Tet, to prevent people from returning home late for Tet due to lack of means of transport; to strengthen inspection of the implementation of declaration and posting of transportation fares, train and bus ticket prices, etc.

Effectively implement solutions to control and reduce traffic accidents and overcome traffic congestion, especially on routes connecting Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, major traffic hubs and festival areas.

The Ministry of Public Security shall preside over and coordinate with ministries, branches and localities to ensure absolute safety for the activities of Party and State leaders, key targets and projects, important political, foreign affairs, cultural and social events of the country and New Year festivals. Do not be passive or surprised in any situation; take measures to prevent, detect and effectively combat the plots and sabotage activities of hostile forces and reactionary elements inside and outside.

It is necessary to ensure information security and national network safety; maintain domestic security, ensure citizen security, promptly resolve complicated complaints and lawsuits, prevent the formation of "hot spots" of security and order; strengthen prevention and control of illegal entry and exit.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism shall strengthen guidance, inspection, examination and supervision of the organization of cultural, sports and tourism activities and the management of local festivals before, during and after the Lunar New Year; promptly prevent negative manifestations, taking advantage of festivals for illegal profits, and superstition...

For localities, the Prime Minister requested that based on the practical situation, decisions on organizing fireworks displays to welcome the New Year should be made in accordance with conditions and capabilities, ensuring safety, savings, and not using the State budget.
