Prime Ministers of Vietnam and Australia witness Vietjet's flight route announcement ceremony

Vietjet announced the first direct flight connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Brisbane (Australia).


The announcement ceremony was witnessed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese along with representatives of leaders, businesses and people of the two countries.

After Melbourne and Sydney, Brisbane is the third city in the beautiful country of Australia that Vietjet has direct flights to, and this is also the first route connecting Vietnam with Brisbane city and Queensland state. Right on the occasion of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's official visit to Vietnam and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Australia, Vietjet announced the opening of the Ho Chi Minh City - Brisbane route from June 16, 2023 with 2 round trips per week by modern large aircraft A330. The direct flight will contribute to promoting trade between Vietnam and Brisbane, Queensland state and Australia in general and further developing bilateral relations in the coming time.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said at the ceremony: “We welcome new routes to Australia, especially as Vietjet's route is the first to connect Vietnam with the beautiful city of Brisbane, Australia, where the 2032 Summer Olympics will take place.”

The new route will shorten travel time, creating convenience for people and tourists when flying between the "City named after Uncle Ho", the leading economic and cultural center of Vietnam, and Brisbane, the third largest city in Australia, which is known as the New York of the "land of kangaroos". In recognition of the 50th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic relations, after Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Vietjet plans to open more routes connecting cities in Vietnam with Australia, expanding the connecting flight network from Australia to countries in the region and around the world.
