Bamboo Airways' Airbus A320NEO aircraft operates the first direct flight connecting Hanoi-Lijiang
Bamboo Airways has just successfully operated the first direct flight connecting Hanoi-Lijiang (Yunnan, China) on July 30.
Accordingly, two round-trip flights numbered QH802 and QH801 connecting Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi) and Tam Nghia International Airport (Lijiang, Yunnan) will be operated by Airbus A320NEO aircraft, suitable for travel needs between major cities in Vietnam and key markets in Asia.
Currently, Bamboo Airways is the first and only Vietnamese airline to operate charter flights from Hanoi to Lijiang, with an expected frequency of 3 round trips per week. Flight time is about two hours, significantly shortened compared to previous forms of travel. Normally, it takes passengers from 4-16 hours if taking a connecting flight, or 16 hours if traveling by road from Hanoi, Vietnam to reach this "ancient town".
“We expect that the operation of Hanoi-Lijiang round-trip flights will meet the travel needs of people in the two cities, as well as contribute to promoting cooperation in many fields between the two countries. This is also a solid foundation for Bamboo Airways to operate regular direct flights between Vietnam and China in the future,” said a representative of Bamboo Airways.
Previously, Bamboo Airways had flights to a series of key airports in many countries in the region such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), Thailand and Singapore.
According to the General Statistics Office, in the first six months of 2023, Vietnam welcomed 557,151 visitors from China; of which June alone welcomed 158,260, an increase of 108% compared to May. Meanwhile, Vietnam has also been one of the five largest foreign markets sending visitors to China for many years.
