Goalkeeper Dang Van Lam gets married

The wedding took place at a resort, in a private setting, with only 18 guests.

On a white lawn, with a small flower gate, Van Lam and Yen Xuan stood to cut the cake, witnessed by both parents and some guests who were close colleagues. The host was Yen Xuan's close friend.

The groom and bride both promise to "share joys and dreams in life, love and respect each other for the rest of their lives".

Van Lam was born in 1993, two years younger than Yen Xuan - a personal fitness trainer. After meeting in 2018, Yen Xuan often went to stadiums to watch Van Lam compete.

When her boyfriend went to Thailand to play for Muangthong United (2019-2020) and Japan to play for Cerezo Osaka (2020-2021), she also accompanied him for a certain period of time and then returned to Vietnam to take care of his own business. Yen Xuan once went to Russia to live with her parents, younger brother and younger sister Van Lam for a long time. She was supported by the whole family of the Vietnamese national team goalkeeper.

On June 9, 2024, Van Lam and Yen Xuan celebrated their 6th anniversary. More than a week later, the 31-year-old goalkeeper proposed to his girlfriend.

Yen Xuan used to be overweight, but thanks to exercise and a scientific nutritional regimen, she has a balanced figure. This personal trainer once shared that she pursues a philosophy of discipline and tries to convey positive energy in life.

Van Lam has been the top goalkeeper of Vietnamese football for the past 8 years. He has been the main goalkeeper since 2018, with the national team winning the AFF Cup 2018, reaching the quarterfinals of the Asian Cup 2019 and the third qualifying round of the World Cup 2022. It was not until the end of 2023 that Van Lam really had to compete for a position in the goal after his colleague Filip Nguyen returned from Europe to play, then obtained Vietnamese citizenship and joined the national team.

Before his success, Van Lam also struggled for a while to find a place in Vietnamese football, despite being trained at two famous Russian youth academies, Spartak Moskva and Dinamo Moskva.

In 2010, Van Lam returned to Vietnam to join HAGL, then was loaned to Hoang Anh Attapeu Club in 2012. After that, he returned to Russia to play for two lower-ranked clubs in Russia, Duslar and Rodina Moskva. In 2015, Van Lam joined Hai Phong, taking more than a year to secure a starting position.

In 2019, Van Lam brought Hai Phong a transfer fee of 500,000 USD when joining Muangthong United Club. Two years later, he became the first Vietnamese player to play in J-League 1 with Cerezo Osaka.

In August 2022, Van Lam returned to Vietnam to play for Binh Dinh until now.
