Hoang Anh Gia Lai added a pair of foreign players from Brazil and 3 domestic players from Hanoi Police to focus on the relegation race in V-League 2023/24.
According to the registration list on the VPF homepage, Hoang Anh Gia Lai replaced two foreign players Martin Dzilah and Jhon Cley with midfielder Gabriel Ferreira and striker Joao Veras. The remaining foreign player, Jairo Rodrigues, is still kept by the mountain town team for the second leg of the Night Wolf V-League 2023/24.
Joao Vares was born in 2000, is 1m87 tall, and played for Ponte Preta Club in the Brazilian Serie B, appearing 42 times and scoring 6 goals. Meanwhile, Gabriel Ferreira Dias plays as a midfielder, has an impressive height of 1m90, and played 14 matches in the Brazilian Serie D.
Regarding domestic players, Hoang Anh Gia Lai added goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung, center back Tran Quang Thinh and midfielder Huynh Tan Tai from Hanoi Police. Thus, the deal for Patrik Le Giang and Sam Ngoc Duc was not successful because Ho Chi Minh City decided to keep them until the end of their contract (on loan from Hanoi Police).
Among the new recruits, goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung will almost certainly be given the starting position as Hoang Anh Gia Lai said goodbye to Tuan Linh at the beginning of the season, and Phan Dinh Vu Hai was just injured in the 0-0 draw with Quang Nam.
